THE CITY
BRUSSELS 2006

A very cosmopolitan city, Brussels is placed between the most important communication lines in Western Europe.

Approximately 1.30 h from Paris and  2.30h from London, Cologne and Netherlands, this modern and proud of its past city offers all the advantages of the big capitals, and the intense contrast of a city that has known how to preserve its roots and unique charm.

Is one of the European capitals with less inhabitants and more green zones per m2. In spite of that, Brussels has become a real international city.

Brussels is well known for its gastronomy (the popular “Brussels sprout” and its delicious “Belgian waffles”), and its role within the European Community.

Maybe because of that, Brussels is a warm, tolerant, open minded and multicultural town with a desirable quality of life.

It’s quite common for the people in this city to speak at least three languages (French, Dutch and English), and we also find a large German speaking community.

Lots of Spanish, Portuguese and Italian people live there in harmony since many years.

We can taste a beer in the “Grande Place”, visit the legendary Manneken Pis or admire the “Atomium”, metallic vestige of the Expo 58. Of course, if you search for shopping, you can’t forget to visit the “boutiques”; full of many creations of the most important Belgium stylists, as well as the popular flea markets.
